The Jetsons, which only released new episodes in 1962, 1963 (and then later 1985-1987) debuted as the first program broadcast in color on ABC. 

The cartoon stopped being produced as many of the core characters had passed away. The movie released in 1990 was released as the series finale of the show. 

The Jetsons was also the Space Age counterpart to The Stone Age Hanna-Barbera’s The Flintstones.
